Networking Communities is now Fully Operational

November 20, 2009
WASHINGTON, D.C.—In the CCCU’s ongoing efforts to improve service to member and affiliate campuses, the Council has revamped its online networking strategy.

The CCCU Networking Communities Web site is an interactive system of list-servs and more. The Web site enables users to collaborate with peers in community groups via list-servs and with new tools including blogs, wikis, community directory and a group-based file library to share documents and images.

“So many of our members have benefited through the years from connecting with their peers, whether it was in person or online it is a valuable aspect of our service. The introduction of the new Networking Communities now allows us to extend the type and scope of service. This is a significant step forward in how we serve our membership,” said Nate Mouttet, vice president for communications.

Participants have the option to become a member of one of the campus position peer groups for administrators and staff on CCCU campuses or to join a community of topical interest such as pedagogy, diversity and student life.

To date, over 1,900 participants have been approved for the Networking Communities with more than 95,000 e-mail messages delivered to subscribers.  Over 400 individuals have logged into the secure Web site where they can access the many new features of the Networking Communities.
